Bound

It’s not as though I don’t know how

It’s not as though I don’t know I should

I mean only to say it causes me pain

That is to say I never could.

How can anyone express with hands bound

Or fingers taped together?

Information demands to be free

My expressions want to soar

Yet an old world forces me to do something I can’t do

I am bound by what came before.

  1. Are we really bound by what came before? Cos I like to believe we each can mark our course.
And the hands/fingers are far from the only means of expressing our inner turmoils. You could always shout and spread it in the wind.
    Nice delivery.

Your comment is absolutely hilarious when you consider what the poem is actually written about. More on that later.
